A significant stride towards improving access to clean water, Ghana West Africa Medical Mission (GWAMM) has successfully drilled eight new boreholes across four towns in the Ashanti Region. The towns benefiting from this initiative include Manso AtwedeÉ›, Essouwin, Sekeyre East, and Jachie, with two boreholes installed in each location, some of which are powered by solar, as part of the effort towards environmental sustainability

This ambitious project was made possible through the generous contributions of donors and sponsors associated with the Ghana West Africa Medical Mission. The organization, committed to addressing healthcare and sanitation challenges in the region, collaborated with Dada Foundation - Ghana to execute the borehole installation.

The pressing need for a sustainable and clean water supply in these communities prompted the intervention. In many regions across Ghana, residents often face water scarcity and poor water quality challenges, leading to health concerns and hindering daily activities. Access to clean water is a fundamental right, forming the cornerstone of a healthy community. The installation of these boreholes is a testament to the collective effort of everyone involved in making a positive impact on the lives of the residents in these four towns.

The boreholes are strategically located to serve a wide population, ensuring that communities have convenient access to a reliable and clean water source. This initiative not only addresses immediate water needs but also contributes to the long-term well-being of the residents and overall community development.

Adding to the existing water infrastructure, this project brings the total number of boreholes in the Ashanti Region alone to 13, and counting, marking a significant step towards achieving sustainable and equitable access to clean water for all.
