As at April this year, we have successfully drilled 46 wells, transforming the lives of countless individuals who now have reliable access to clean drinking water.
In a remarkable stride towards providing sustainable access to clean water, Ghana West Africa Medical Mission (GWAMM), in collaboration with the Dada Foundation, has proudly registered its own well-drilling truck, affectionately named "Big Bertha." This milestone comes after years of dedication to addressing the critical water needs of rural communities across Ghana.
As at April this year, we have successfully drilled 46 wells, transforming the lives of countless individuals who now have reliable access to clean drinking water. With the newly acquired "Big Bertha" truck, the mission is set to accelerate our efforts, having already secured funding for an additional 24 wells. This is a significant step towards our continuing effort to improve public health, reduce waterborne diseases, and empower communities through access to one of life's most essential resource, clean water.
The well-drilling project is part of a broader initiative aimed at addressing the fundamental challenges that underserved communities in Ghana face. By providing access to clean water, our Mission is reducing the burden on women and children who often bear the responsibility of fetching water from distant and unsafe sources. This not only improves health outcomes but also frees up time for education and economic activities, promoting long-term community development.
As "Big Bertha" takes center stage, the team is excited to bring clean water to even more regions, driving forward our vision of a healthier and more sustainable future for all. Each well drilled is a step closer to that vision, ensuring that access to clean water is no longer a privilege, but a basic right for everyone.
Drill, Bertha, drill!
